really depends on your play style for the ranger/mesmer or mesmer/ranger.. Im sure that rangers have higher AC but mesmers get an extra pip of mana regen.. If you want to utilize some of the ranger interuption you may want a Bow.
I know nothing of expertise or fast casting so I cant comment on those 2..

i made a Me/R.. but i got bored of her... (stopped playing it at lvl 10 and made it items mule) so i made R/Me and i love it...(currently lvl 16)

I wouldn't suggest doing a Ranger/Mesmer for one reason 1) Rangers to begin with have very little energy for spell casting so you might have great spells to use but no energy to cast them. But Mesmers can be great anti-spellcasters when combined with a Ranger, and Mesmers have the abilities to get energy back. But for overall I would go with Mesmer/Ranger all the benefits of the combo but more energy to start out with

I have a R/Me and the energy is not really an issue if you play your cards right.. I use domination, inspiration, beast mastery, and wilderness
domination for empathy and backfire
inspiration to get energy back
beast mastery since I do little damage besides empathy and backfire I want a pet
wilderness survivale to many good skills..
all you have to do is play smart. 8)

Thats true but not everyone know how to use their skills to the maximum potential and get the most out of it. You have to assume that they are trying these spells for the first time in connection with the class. So for all intensive purposes everything I said is for the haste and waste type person not the use your brain and create a compotent way to use the skills. I know its true that it can be used correctly if you use your brain but not all individuals do. To much TV and crap food rotting the brain. LOL

ahhh but you are also a contribiter to that as well.. you are suggesting people to not to use there brain and to go with a build that is easier to use instead of challenging..

I guess but it is better to learn slow than be thrown into the pit of fire unprepared. An easier character to start with will help people learn how to use the skill properly, thus making them use their brain.
