Which would be best to play bf2 on, windows or linux. Loads of ppl are sayin that sp2 is bad and does bad things to pc etc, etc. So would it be better going on to linux, or if things got really bad buying a mac?

Well your question doesn’t have a clear answer, and you haven’t provided ANY information on your system. So here is a rather long winded blanket linux vs windows issue.
First off don’t get a mac to play games on, whatever you do.
Next SP2 isn’t bad for games, that’s a bit of a lie. The problem with SP2 is that it limits connections which hurts your p2p file sharing. However there are certain tricks to get around this (note if you screw it up it’s not my fault).
Linux is generally inferior for gaming than windows, but there are a couple exceptions.
Also linux is bad when mixed with radeon GFX cards, yet some of these cards run bf2 much faster in windows.
Windows is your best bet in general but until you give me some system specs I can’t help you any further.
