Necro/Ranger Doppleganger

Okay, this is my first try at ascension, and i'll keep ya'll posted. It seems that the necro/ran doppleganger is pretty much ranger, plus that axe of his/hers. I haven't one yet, but here are my hints so far. Don't go in with any "useful spells. It'll use them all on you. I've learned that a lot of life sacrafice skills are very handy, and if you can trick it into activating it, I believe it was signet of agony that is very handy. He/she died right after me, so i need to work on my timing, but this is how i got this far. I go in, equipped with all life sacrifice spells that won't cause me any actual pain, plus the insidious parasite, or whichever one it is that steals life when they hit, and vampiric touch, and doge. As soon as you go in use doge to give yourself time to adjust the screen, then use insidious parasite. When the dopple ganger has the bow, run up us touch then run away. He'll come at you with its axe but keep running farther away until he swiotches to bow, use touch and run tactic over and over. and throw in dodge if you want. If your lucky he'll use signet of agony and bleed to death. But make sure you touch anmd run or it'll use touch back on you..lol, plus that dang ax it has. I'll keep you all updated as to whether or not this strategy can work with me still alive...but it can atleast get us both killed. In that case, you get xp and it says you unlock ranger path, but you only get the xp, not the path.

Okay. It takes a few tries, but it pretty much works. just run in use vampiric touch and then run off. mostly i forgot to put insidious parasite back on it, but it really helps to remember.

mr roomate used a rather unusual tactic here..

he used 2 skills. Price of Failure-Distortion.. he used price of failure on dopple and kept distortion up on him self for the remander of the fight.. slow and steady he won the fight in under a minute..

Wow..i bet a mesmer/necro would be hard..do they still use the bow and axe? THat's what really nailed me at first. Man, i rember when i first went in, with all these tough spell i thought would help me..it wiped me in under 2o seconds...lol.

Use Awaken the Blood followed by any sacrificing blood spells. I defeated my mirror in less than 10 seconds. (He killed himself. /point /laugh) ^_^

Well, I one time wanted to have the lowest credibility on guildwars.gameamp and went almost to -200 in credit, but in the end decided to change my ways and have positive credit instead.

this mirror is the ezist in the game since u a n/r basically iu use all ranger skills bow atack skills nd attack him from range so he wont use his bow to use ur skills nd he will chase u wiff the axe nd wont do dmg while u can kill him.

It's the skills that do most of the damage. i already beat him, using above tactics, which are a collection of hints and tips form players in-game.

Also, if you attack form a range, he won't use the ax. he'll use his bow. and he'll use all your bow attacks right back at ya.

so far the easiest thing ive done for necro is jus put a bunch of sacrifice %health spells. then jus attack regularly killed in 35 seconds

Ya I gotta say IMO necro was cake. Like aleady mentioned..use spells tha heal minions(blood of the master) and awaken blood and price of failure..then dont attack as he'll cast it onyou. He seemed to go right throught the bar of skills and uses them all whether needed or not. Its been a long time since my necro ascended and I didnt do it in less than a minute but its just a matter of the right skill selection....the whole game is for that matter but teamwork can make up for mistakes..you dopples dont lol.

If only I had come here sooner for help (sigh). I attempted my dopple at least 6 times before beating it. My big mistake was not equiping a healing spell and 2 ranger spells. I was told to not equip healing with dopple. I got rid of one spell the dopple was not using (malaise) and equiped insidious parasite in its place. I also added whirling defense and dodge, which gave me a full skill bar. I only cast insidious 2x and it saved my butt. The final hit from my dopple killed her and boosted my health instead. These are the spells I equiped: dark bond, mark of pain, enfeebling blood, insidious parasite, defile flesh, whirling defense, dodge, and storm chaser. I never used my bow on my dopple. I also kept my distance so my dopple would always use her bow and cast. Thanks for the advice. I hope this also helps others, just as it did me.

Just so u know. N/R dopple still uses bow and axe. If u want the bonus you must beat the dopple in 50sec. Also, if you are a Ranger prim you probably do not need to equip storm chaser as whirling defense and dodge should last longer and are far better if your attributes are in expertise. I will try beating her again with a couple less spells and see if I can do it. If so, I'll post again.
