Has anyone noticed that if you have a low level toon then all the higher level characters start treating you like a noob. They never stop to consider that in the game of a thousand alts (thats CoH ofcourse) one of my alts out levels them by a good pace. I have to admit that occures mostly in lower levels or if your talking to a level fifty as a ten. I myself have been guilty of this. I was playing with a new fire tank when someone offered to show me how to herd properly. Their herding talents were very effective for their enhancement slotting and powers, but for my toon who is slotted and powered differently not to mention about ten levels lower would have gotten me killed. excuse me...."sent to the hospital".

Argh! I hate it when that happens! I know there are a lot of noobs around but it should be an "innocent until proven guilty kind of thing." Like until you do something stupid or say you're a noob. But I do appreciate the help when I need it. And it's nice when they help out the actual noobs.

I get quite a bit of this, since I am a confirmed altoholic. I am usually very polite in letting them know that I have been playing quite some time, and when that doesn't work, I play the "Staff Member at Gameamp" card. Then they pause, and as wonder and glory fills their eyes, they say... "What the #@&$ is Gameamp?"

I'm level 41 and still a n00b! I'm not very good at MMO's since CoH is the first MMO I have ever played. Unless Star Craft counts... which I doubt!
Even though I do kind of get hard headed and think all lowbies are not very well versed at CoH for some reason, and I try act smart when I'm not. So I try to just keep talk to myself and just joke around when talking on Broadcast or what have ya.

why would you play low lvls? of course i've never been an alt-aholic and when i do actually log in someone other than Liz i probably do need some help or advice b/c i am used to playing a blaster and not any other kind of AT...
and nak that "staff member of gameamp" trump card always works for me.... i mean everyone knows what gameamp is don't they?

If they don't, I generally beat them across the head with something heavy and send them here.
Actually, I've gotten quite a few tells with Shyvver with people saying "Aren't you Ron from gameamp". I usually get them once or twice a week. It's kinda flattering. :)

I dont know about any of you, but i really cant stand the word newb/noob/n00b anymore. All the regulars i see in atlas on guardian throw that word around so frequently. I am all for making new toons, but most of the ones i play on a regular basis have demonico or something similar in the name. I can tell you how many times ive had a lowbie walk up to me and say " dont you have a lvl 50 demonico?" I just like it that way, if they have played/seen me on my main or PB they know im not a noob.

Most people know I'm not a Noob by the fact that I tend to be very...pushy...around players that I know are noobs. I tend to take a leadership position, give commands, and make certain people know their roles in a team. The altcaholics seem to know right away when a seasoned player is around. The noobs either learn quick how to play effectivly, or they wind up getting kicked. I'm not above talking to "good" players over a private chat channel and quiting out a team and running a duo with them when I can smell debt lingering nearby.

I can play any power set and class combo effectively due to my long MMO experience so I don't hear noob much in relation to me.
EXCEPT when i do things like make a darkness scrap with no shadow maul. I don't like it and people think im crazy for that.
Noobs however fall into 4 catagories:
1. Capable of learning.
2. Incapable of learning past a point.
3. Dumb as a brick.
4. Intentionally stupid/arrogant.
Example...I ran into a guy the other day who was a force field defender who had no bubbles till 12 when he picked up disp bubble and is never gonna get the singles.
I can understand this somewhat but to me its like a empathy with no heal other. If you want to make a blaster make a blaster.
I will admit his bubble definitely helped but he made minimal attempt if any to keep the bubble around those who needed it. I was taking all the aggro as tank and had the bubble perhaps half the time.
