At the very beginning of the Underworld, there is ghost named Sarah looking for her daughter whose name is Gwen. Now I'm not sure if giving her the broken flute might trigger/complete a quest there but it may be one.

Ok..where is this underworld? I looked on the world map that gameamp has, and I don't see it listed. Everyone keeps mentioning areas that I have never heard of and can't find. But I know they exist since everyone else knows about them. lol

So the flut is everywhere? surely it wouldn't be ther for no reason. I'm only at THe ice caves, but as soon as i get to the underworld, i'll check it out, see how it goes and report back.

in the temple of ages when you country has favor 2 zones open up high lvl zones.. it costs 1kgold to enter.. anything else imsorry I can't help never actually went...

a good place to untrain is to the east of elona, there will be 1 or 2 sand drakes just near zone in, and they give 120 exp each. 1 is really easy to take on solo, and 2 is kinda easy. so i just run in and out killing them to untrain (then agian im a tactics user so i can block their pure melee skills lol)
edit: just checked how long it took, and it was 9 seconds for all melee combat. i pulled with conjure phantasm, then phantom chained, then empathy, then gladiators defence, then fight was over lol

You say there's a broken flute in Sardelic Sanctum? And there's a ghost looking for Gwen in UW? Hmmm, I'll check into that either tonight or tomorrow. I'll head to Sardelic, buy the broken flute off of someone, and make a UW run. I'll see if the ghost does anything.
Well, I one time wanted to have the lowest credibility on guildwars.gameamp and went almost to -200 in credit, but in the end decided to change my ways and have positive credit instead.

I can post next time I find a flute. But I kept finding them near Ascalon and the small area south of there (where you use to gain access to the catacombs). At one time I destroyed 6 of them cause I was told they were of no use. Just a reminder of how things use to be.

Just FYI you need to be ascended now to enter Fissure of Woe or Underworld at Temple of the Ages.
The Temple of the Ages is located a long way west of Bergen's Hot Spring.

useless flute...i net you say that about the tapestry shard too. You can equip the broken flute in your shield slot...for no stats...but is everything about stats? my ranger keeps it there all the time since it doesn't matter...and i always have a reminder of the times we shared

I loved gwne so much..but..er.. where are her parents? Thety let her just run off with strangers into monsters? If sh did die, well, i wouldn't be suprised. I'd feel sad tho. I loved her sooom uch. I'm gonna buy a flute and keep it just to rmind me...
Oh, and a broken flute can be found on the ridge right obove the priest that gives you ressurect in post-sear ascalon, near the sanitarium..i believe it's grazden the protector.

Hahaha, yeah. That's almost as good as my theory that the charr, the stone summmit, and the white mante were all a distraction from the true evil lord.... JOE THE DEVOURER!!!
But about the gwen's flute thing. I think it's probably just a symbol of how its the same place you were in before that was all happy but is now in ruin. If it has a use, though, I like to know.

I dunno. I tried to go into UW with the broken flute and didn't see anything different happen. Of course we didn't beat all the missions so I dunno. What I think it is is a forshadowing of the next expansion. Think about it. It never showed her die. She was outside of the walls when it happened and two years passed by. Why on Earth would her cape be sooooo far away from Ascalon? I think she also went through the ascension phase and got infused too. :P
Honestly though, I think we'll see more of her in the next expansion. So far I have the broken flute & flute. I need the girl's cape & tatered cape. Gonna make sure I have both pre and after searing to see if anything happens with either.

Okay, this one si totally off topic..but man? I must have made someone ticked off, cuz all my posts in this thread got liek a -2 adn no one else got rated. Wierd, because the were all not-rated and then boom, all-2 and one -3. Extra wierd, becasue it's not like i was giving any advice or anything. I bet it was that guy that made the necro doppleganger guide...maybe i shouldn't have left the comment correcting him...is this like an Internet blacklist? This Gwen thing has been buggin me for a while about now. Lots of forums say its a broken quest, though I heared lots of odd rumours of what it could be and, well, I WANNA KNOW
