Hey, I don't consider myself a complete nn00b, well, maybe I am..anyway. This question is more geared towards people that have played different mmorpgs.
What do you think is the best thing Guild Wars has? What sets it apart from the others? What makes you play this game instead of Evercrack, FFXI or WoW?
I'm thinking of playing WoW but I dont agree with monthly fees(hey I already paid 50 for the game, why charge me more to play it?) and would like to know what I'm missing or what I'm gaining by playing GW.
Mithrandir Okinae. I kick ass.

i played eq for 2 years, then tried the beta to this and liked it a lot. mostly did pvp, about straight hours or so at one point. well anyway. as witht he question. the things i like better about this game is no monthly fee, and if you dont like someoen or they dont like you, well u can get rid of them completly, no KS'ing or anyhting like that. also there isn't camping 1 enemy for a week hoping it will spawn and drop the item you need either for a quest, or just a powerful item.
(main reason because i spent 125 hours in 1 week camping a item, called a pegasus feather cloak in EQ).some of the things i dont like tho is that there arent any raids. like u cant get your whole guild to go into a zone, maybe they will change that with expansion and allow u to have guild raids =)

GW is a lot more story oriented to me than any of the other mmorpg's.
I play it over the others because it is FREE.

Well as you would say I have been around the block playing mmorpgs..
I started over 5 years ago with EQ and still play to this day. I still play the same main character named appropriatly Dasha... That game is the best game there is out there.. I am probally biased towards EQ since its my first love and will continue to be my love.
I have tried Horizons.. Crafting was fun in that game but didnt have enough people playing.'
I played City of Heroes for a while fun game but very very repetitive no replay for me.
Star Wars Galaxies was a blast had alot of fun. I was in a roleplay guild and my character was a slave. Had way to much fun hehe but there were no grouping together with friends to go hunting since buffs and gear were overpowering the enemies you didnt need any help not even a healer...
Everquest 2 was just a huge let down for me.. I excpected EQ1 but all new again.... they dumbed down the game so much from the original that I quickly lost interest..
Lineage hated it.. Shadowbane hated it.. WoW had guns stoped after first day.. Dark Ages of Camelot didnt realize it was a huge PvP game and I dont like PvP..
wow lol sorry for the long post but to cut it short I have pretty much played them all to some extent..
The reason Guild Wars is good. Well quite frankly it is you people here and the friends I have online.. that and I tend to lvl slow at games but in this game it doesnt matter.. 8)..
edit: Oh and Nutter I regulary play 2 games a week of DnD as well.. mainly first/second edition third for one DM but he is off in Afgan right now fighting for my freedom..
