Moonfire TF

Has anyone done the Moonfire TF? I'm a level 28, and I was wondering if its worth it to do this TF. No one I know has done it, and I can barely find anyone who's even heard of it. I can never find the 6 people I need to do the TF. Is it worth the frustration or should I just wait till I hit 50 and go back and do it? Thanks.

I did this TF last night with a group or 7. I was level 28 as well but for some unknown reason I must have been auto-exemp'ed or there was a bug because I didn't get any XP for any of it. I didn't quit the team because I didn't want to mess the team up. Turns out 4 of the 7 quit about half way in so only 3 of us finished it. You don't get any badge or anything for finishing just an SO (which I also didn't get.) This is a very good way to get the Slayer and Silver Bullet badges though! Filled with Vamps and Wolves. So back to the original question: Is it worth it? If you want some badges needed for an Accolade then yes it's worth it. If you want to take a chance on getting XP that is. If you are doing it for another reason it may not be worth it. Take what you will from this...I had fun with the other 2 players so for me it was worth it. Hope this helps!

Hi VInce,

I did the Moonfire a couple of weeks ago, with a group of 5 heroes around lvl 25. I liked it a lot. It took us about 3 hours to finish. All mission steps were in Striga, so no long travel times. Too bad you don't get a badge for it, though. So you can skip it as a lvl 50 auto exemplar who wants to get all badges. But if you in the middle or upper 20's it is definately worth it.

I also think that Moonfire is an excellent TF. It's a great stepping stone for the mid to late twenties, and, as mentioned in a previous post, it's incredibly easy to pick up The Silver Bullet and The Slayer badges. It's disappointing that there's no badge, but I've heard that the might create one. If so, everyone that's completed it will receive the badge after it's added.

Can anyone who's done Moonfire hop on the test server and see if this was implimented? I plan on checking to see if the...awe crud, whoever Aurora's Husaband is TF get's a badge for completion (and if so...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA).

Like I said, I'll be off of work at 4. Heading to Charley and The Chocolate Factory at 7, but hopefully I'll be able to hop on test and see if they've implimented any new badges for old TF's.

OH, and I'll be seeing what it takes to get badges in Croatoa. Gotta see if witches give it up now :P.

I just did Moonfire last night with 6 other heroes, most of whom saw it through till the end. However, we were all sorely disappointed when there was no reward. I did earn the Atlas Medallion after the second or third mission (I believe there are 7 total)...woohoo for me. But, I was pretty close to it anyway and probably could have gotten it just by hunting in the Bog for the same amount of time as the Task Force took.

Personally, I think for as much work as we put into it, there should be some reward. Thinking that the lack of reward might have been a bug, I sent a petition to the Devs and was told that NONE of the new zone TFs give rewards. That just seems totally lame to me. We devote x amount of hours to finish a task force, working together as a team, helping Paragon City remain safe from evil arch-villians, and the only thing we got was one toon was awarded a SO level 30 mutation damage enhancement (and she wasn't even mutation origin).

On top of all that, I started the TF at level 27, the highest in on the team, dinged half way through and was auto-exemped down to 27 again, even though the max level for the TF says its 28.

In my opinion, unless you desperately want the Silver Bullet and Slayer badges and refuse to hunt for them, this TF is not worth the time and effort until some rewards are doled out for it.

It sucks that you got robbed of the experience in the end of this one, bubba. I also agree that the TF should have a badge at the end. However, I don't agree that the reward isn't worth completing Moonfire. When I initially finished the task, I was upset about not having a prize to show everyone that I'd completed another milestone in Bright's career. In hindsight, I realized that Moonfire does have a great reward regardless - 2 badges (The Silver Bullet & The Slayer), massive experience, and the fun of a TF. Besides an Accomplishment, I don't think you can ask for much more...But that's just me. :)

Hopped on test and there is a badge slot for moonfire now, as well as the Shadow Shard Task forces.

I was on test with Bright last night as well, but I didn't get the Moonfire badge. It would suck if they don't grandfather this one. I'd hate to have to go back through in my 40s just to pick up the Accomplishment.
