| Best Second Prof For PvE Ranger? |

Hey guys. I am thinking of making a PvE ranger but I am not sure what the best second profession would be. Any ideas would be nice. Thanks.

My ranger is a secondary mesmer. As a R/Me you can truly annoy the hell out of your opponents.
Stand out mesmer skills:
Empathy: every time your target attacks they take damage (around 21 at 8 skill in domination magic)
Backfire: Empathy for casters, does around 91dmg per spell for me
Conjure phantasam: 5 degeneration per X seconds. (think it was 8 seconds when i swapped my domination for illusion)
one fun thing to do is use poison arrow and conjure phantasam to degen the hell out of someone. of course you could also try and be creative by using melundrus arrows and replacing poision arrow with apply poision (from asclon settlement) to throw some bleeding in the mix.
true you wouldn't need ALL that degen in PvE, but my loadouts usually revolve around these concepts...and i don't do to bad....

i once killed the same mesmer 3 times ina row in PvP...then as her team was logging out she started screaming that i did nothing....yes, i agree...killing her was to easy to be considered anything :-)

Does putting attribute points into Fire Magic improve skills like the Fire Arrow ones?

i started a ranger just after i realized how badly a good interupt/drain Ranger/Mesmer can whoop a caster in PVP... hope i become good enough with him to hand out a beating to the monks and elementals in the arenas

I would have to say Necromancer for the simple reason because they specialize in debluffs and life taps, the combo is better suited for attacking individuals rather than your run of the mill mob in co-op play.

I'm either a R/Mo or R/E depending on my mood. But, the only reason I prefer Monk over Elementalist, though, is becuase to be an effective spell caster, you would have to raise your spell attributes, therefore in the process causing you to have to remove some points from your ranger attributes. But if you simply use the second proffesion Monk for the Resurect, Rebirth, and Restore Life spells, you do not have to raise any attributes other than that of your primary profession, because the resurection skills are affected by or really don't need the improvement of your secondary profession attributes. Therefore you can still focus your attribute points on your Ranger attributes.
