on my machine the patch failed.

Ya, I have the same problem. Not sure what it is though. Do you have your computer overclocked at all? (Not video card, just CPU/FSB.)

I experienced no troubles with the new patch(as to your question). Download is on the EA BF2 main site. I can't think of an appropriate reason why the patch would fail, as far as I can tell most every patch I have gotten for an EA game has been stable, for reference, I am using windows xp pro, radeon 9800, 1gig ddr2 ram pc 2700, intel 2.6 processor, msi motherboard. I dont know how your software, virus protection and firwalls are configured, you could try disabling much of that prior to installing, software can often cause unforseen conflicts(yes I am master of the obvious lol); its possible that the auto-installer could not read the dirrectory path correctly and resulted in an error.

So far the solution is to download the new patch that the put it. That's what I did.

I got the patch, and for some reason IT'S NOT GIVING MY MEDALS! AND POINTS! I have spent the past three days gettin' Basic Driving, Basic Spec Ops, and Basic SUPPORT BUT I STILL HAVEN'T FUCKING GOT IT! :(
