Okay all, I know that no one ever brings any of this up because most of you are afraid. You're afraid of getting degraded. And as you can clearly tell by my sig, I'm not afraid and on top of that I welcome the degration as you can easily see. Why? Cause I guess I'm sort of making fun of the system.
Basically this is how it works: You don't like someone's comment, you degrade them. They feel like saying, "WTF" You don't like someone, you degrade them. They feel like saying, "WTF" So basically they feel like, "What did I do wrong? Who degraded me?!" Some might brush it off and don't care while others shudder at the sight of any negatives. So that brings me to my question I'm asking you all:
"Do you fear the negative?"
To further excel this topic, "Am I, navymrgoodbar, actually winning or losing when I get degraded?" :P
Don't be afraid to post, I'm sure no one will degrade you. ;)

Well, I one time wanted to have the lowest credibility on guildwars.gameamp and went almost to -200 in credit, but in the end decided to change my ways and have positive credit instead.

In many forums you can get some kind of "points" that indicates some kind of ranking.. You can be or want to be some kind of admin.
I couldn't care less, I'm here to talk. Folks either like me/my comments or they don't, then I'll just accept the consequenses was it good or bad.

I mean, mpos tpeople don't rate my topics..which is kind of bad, because if someone leaves bad advice I'll tel lthem. This one guy made a guide thatw uold get it's users slaughters...so i coreccted him. I'm just setting myself up for doom. Plus, i guess i made someone mad, becasue they went -2 on all my post in the ghost of gwen thread. Go and read my posts..they aren't even anything worth rating! THe were just about how i'd go figure stuff out and how i liked gwen!!!!! Maybe the admin should read the posts befroe deciding whether to take points away. I WAS over 100...

The credibility system is a good concept in and of itself, but it also depends on the fair judgement of everybody using it. This is more trusting than I would normally be, but if you're careful then you won't get on anybody's bad side here. We're here to talk, not to aggrivate eachother.

That's true, when there's such few of users. When there's more, it evens out, a couple of bad ratings doesn't affect the end result that much when there's more good ratings.

Well, I'm glad to hear from everyone's opinions on this matter. But it's kinda too late for me. One day I was helping any new ppl out and I was just giving my own opinions and had good credit, next thing ya know I rock bottom out and said, "WTF?" So I decided to go with it and just try to have the lowest credit possible.
SO DEGRADE ME!!! ^_^

i agree about getting along, but i wasn't even rude about it. read the comment son bloodnecros guied to the necro doppleganger. the first commentwas the one that started it all. i was just trying to help.

My creadit has been going crazy. When i joined i made about 5 usefull posts(14+) the my information was wrong on 1 post about the berserker scroll( down to -7) then i didnt post anything for about a week and my creds went up to what they are now (+7).
It relly doenst matter to me though

personally, if i see a post made by someone with high credibility, i might take it more serious whereas if i enter a post made by someone with -200 credibility i probabaly won't even bother reading it. I think it's a good system.

No ,we understand tha tthat par tof the system amkes sense. The thing is though, how do you know that that person didn't make 50 goos posts, but when he corrected someone who's post was worng, the got mad and went -5 on all of his posts? That's the problem, that anyone is allowed to trash ypu. I think that only 200+ people should be allowed to trash credit. I'm tired of people posting horribly incorect things, and when i correct tthem, not even bothering their credit, the y get mad and -5 all of my posts the can find. That' why oi try and earn my credit through guides, tips and pictures. Hopefully my credit won't be attacked too badly. if it mostly comes form those

i think a staff member has to approve raises, and lowers in credability. so i think if you are getting low credit, on stuff when you were being helpful and it was people not liking you. they staff members should catch that to confirm the loss in credability.

Subito, You weren't alone. All of my posts in there were negative rated as well. So, I went in and made sure I rated everyone in there, and once I saw the accumalative rating, I saw that almost everyone in that thread was negative. So, it wasn't just you and I, it was some who went through and rated negative on everyone. I already spoke to Nogame about it. :)
As I wrote elsewhere, I try to rate posts as I go, it helps me keep track of what I have read and havn't read. But it is disheartening when after all the rating I have done, I am still at 1 credit. (even though the credit line under my avatar for some reason is still reading -3). *shrugs* Oh well. I guess I can go and submit tons of screen shots to get a positive rating again. :)

Ya, I noticed that too. That's one of the reasons why I said, "Ya know what, 'f' it! I don't care about credit anymore! I know when I'm helpful and when I piss someone off. If someone wants to degrade me, let me be the lowest one possible so I'll only be happy if I get a negative score." So I created my sig and so far I'm (-92) on this post as I speak! ^_^

well, it makes me feel a lot better that no one's out to get me. But then, swampy, maybe they don't approve them..because wouldn't they catch that? especially since in a thread about gwen a lot of it wasn't even rate worthy material?

Yes there is a grading system, and yes it could work fine if everyone was 'serious' about it.
If someone leaves trashy info, or mocks someone or the like leave them bad credit.
The thing I do is reading posts and when I stumble on something that enlightens me or things I know but was very helpful and/or was a good answer to the one asking, then I leave positive.
Normal chatting around I keep my hands off the rate thing.
In the end I think there is a close crowd on this place who go over eachothers posts on a daily basis, and those people know who leaves good stuff and who leaves bad stuff.
So if someone comes along and trashes someone's creds, the 'regulars' will know.
