Re: BF2 - INTERNET CONNECTION PROBLEM

One suggestion is to check for background programs hogging your bandwith . At least that is what EA told me . I have the same problem, and I have a 5mb connection .
I know that this isn't much help, but that's all I got from EA, sorry

Re: BF2 - INTERNET CONNECTION PROBLEM

I normally run several computers out of my conection via lan, surprisingly I get some lag while my cohorts get none, and not hosting the game I have got the frozen up thing; the internet connectivity message pops up now and then as well, its not your conection speed, you could have software interfering with your connection though. Minimise your startup software, this may include virus scaning, emulation, its easy enouph to shut those down. Defragment as well( obvious, but often will contribute to trouble running operations, some files will not defrag, namely most video files, and files in download, bump those).

This game has trouble with some video cards as well, you can also expect memory leaks, this can cause data to get stored and then seperated, it will get stored there, and will accumilate, once your cpu has thrown in the towel, youll freeze up, reboot, shut down, I doubt this is the problem, but worth the mention.

If I had to nail a hardware component down as the issue, I'd say cpu, ram, but most of the of problems I see are software related.

Re: BF2 - INTERNET CONNECTION PROBLEM

That sometimes happens to me. I will just lose connection, but on some of the rare occasions that it has happened it was the server's fault. You member how in Battlefield 1942 sometimes admin would change maps administratively and everybody would get kicked. And all the message you would get would be, "you are having connection problems".

Now sometimes that may also be because a member of the server's clan is bumping you off so he can get on. In that particular case, though, I am not sure if there is supposed to be a special message saying why you are getting bumped. I think that sometimes on bf2 you can get bumped that way and it just looks like you are having a connection problem on your end, when really it was the server that bumped you.
