| Blasteronics lvl 20 costume & cape |

Blasteronic has a new look!
(pic will be added later)
and here he is out of the armor (except for his gauntlets)
(pic will be added later)
Heyzues Marimba was on Freedom a little bit last night. Got invited to a team within seconds of logging on. He is on a SG called Order of the Phoenix. I forget who even invited him to it. I checked the roster and it showed that Heyzues was the Newly Risen Phoenix, which is the top rank in the SG. I have no clue how that happened. He isn’t the highest level (he’s lvl 19 now), or have the most prestige. But maybe when you are Heyzues Marimba you get made the top rank automatically. Who knows.
It was a Super-hero night on CoH. (pic of both-)Lt P American and Sgt John Law patrolled the streets of Virtue and both gained three levels up to 9.
They started out in Atlas at lvl 6 and immediately got invited to a sewer team. After leveling once the team decided that the sewers were to weak and they did the suicide to the hospital thing. Except LT and John Law. We ran out the way we came. Super Heroes DO NOT SUICIDE.
The Hollows was next. The team was a bit unorganized, but we had 4 tanks so no matter where the other 4 squishies went there was a tank to take the aggro. We leveled up once more after a couple missions then suddenly the team was down to the LT, the Sgt and Storm Cop. Storm Cop stayed with us silently as we did our over-the-top Super Hero speak and did a very good job healing us even though we didn’t need very much healing. Of course we both cursed him every time he broke out Gale and blew our enemies out of punching range. Sgt John Law is a tank and Lt P America is a scrapper. After leveling up to 9 and finishing that mish, it was time for me to go.
The Super Heroes are a lot of fun. America’s battle cry is, “Prepare to be subdued, $target!!” and Sgt John Law has a bind that just yells his enemy’s name – such as, “Damned!!”. Then he has his battle cry of, “Prepare for a beat-down!”.
We also talk to NPC citizens and baddies who say the random stuff. When we reach level 10, Lt P America is going to start an SG called “The Ultra-Americans”. We aim to recruit classic and over-the-top RP Super Heroes. The more patriotic the costume, the better. |

There is just not enough time in life. Trying to find time to get in game is tough sometimes. Theres work, wife, children, chores, appointments and bio breaks. It’s a wonder I even have time to watch any one of my DVR’d shows. I actually haven’t watched any of my recorded shows in about a week and a half. In case you are wondering – Scrubs, Man vs Wild, Ghost Hunters are all I have set up right now. The kid, however, has Dora, Wonder Pets, Yo Gabba Gabba, Max and Ruby, and Go Diego Go.
I wasn’t able to logon since Blasteronic yesterday morning. My first alarm usually goes off at 4:45 a.m. and 85% of the time I snooze it. The second alarm goes off at 5:13. I get up, let the dogs out and get ready for work. I leave for work at 5:38. Fortunately, I’m a supervisor. While things are slow in the morning before the trucks start showing up I have time to do a bit of writing. My normal 8 hours are from 6 to 2:30. However, being a supe I stay until everything gets done that needs to get done. Usually that’s between 4 and 4:30. Some days I stay as late as 6. I haven’t mowed my lawn in coming up on 2 weeks. It’s tall. My wife is 8 months pregnant and today she has a check-up at 3:30 that I have to drive her to. After that I’ll be in game from 6 to 10 unless I crap out and snooze for a couple hours. I haven’t decided who I’m going to try to work on tonight. Darrell and I have some Gladiators on Virtue that we want to get up to 35 for the Roman mishs. Mine is Brutus Gladiator (I think I said Maximus in the previous blog) and D’s is Titus Pullo or something like that. We haven’t really worked on them a whole lot. I might use Gemini Force-Knight until Darrell gets off work at 8, but I might get Heyzues Marimba up to lvl 20. I found a bind setup for healing on the numpad that is better than the numpad setup I’m currently using so I might hook Heyzues up with that. Ooooh. That is after I get Blasteronic his new costume slot. He’s going to be in civilian clothes except for his Energy Gauntlets. Yep, tonight I’m killing 30 TSOO.

Logged on with Queen Savra last night. She Lackeyed X-33 (D’s stalker). We went through a COT mish. Both only got about 3 bars, played for over an hour. That’s not a very profitable outing. Triumph villains is tough to find anybody to team wth.
Blasteronic (my lvl 19 Blaster-NRG/NRG) and Synthia Lapella (D’s lvl 20 I think blaster) got on a team in Freedom right away. Blasteronic leveled up right before I logged off. So this morning before work I logged on with him and did the cape mish. Flew to the tailor in Steel Canyon and got the costume mish, but then had to log out to go to work.
Blasteronic has won 2nd place in a Costume Contest in Atlas once.
I am going to create Blasteronic in my game handles today.

There is something else I do while I play City of X. I take snapshots of horrible deaths. When I have more time I will put some in my photo gallery.
And a correction on the last blog. Darth Yinyang has Kin/Electric. GFK has Kin/DB. |

Ah, Double XP weekend. How the sweetness rang in my ears. I’ve been playing CoH and CoV now for 8 months, actually I should be getting my 9 month vet reward by the end of this week. Since I’ve been playing I have almost completely forgotten about any other game, or gaming system. I did make a dozen or so creatures with the Spore Creature Creator (trial), and I did go through basic training in America’s Army. For the most part it’s been all Heroes. I have been through at least one other double XP weekend so I knew what was coming. I devised a plan.
• Get Queen Savra up to level 35
• Get Brewhilda up to level 35
• Get Blasteronic up to level 20
The thing about plans is that they seldom seem to work out like you want. Last XPx2 weekend I was pretty busy. I think it was somebody’s birthday or someone was in town or something. I hardly got to log on at all. My best friend Big D and I had planned to spend big chunks of time leveling our heroes up but it never happened. I spent a half hour here and there and only a couple of characters did any significant leveling. This time would be a little different hopefully. However it wasn’t. I had to paint the master bedroom, including the window sills and the trim of the window frames. Yeah, there are four windows in that bedroom, four panes per window. All taped and painted with a small brush. The whole room had to be coated in primer because the walls were a dark blue and the wooden frames on the windows were dark, dark wood. Don’t forget that I had to paint the ceiling also. It was the biggest time consuming deal when all I wanted to do was smack some bad guys around and see a lot of level-up flashing. Although Darrell and I had planned about 3 times to get online together and play, we only succeeded in this once.
Late Friday night I had gotten online with Commander Ryker in Freedom. He went from level 21 to level 23 before I went to bed. Commander Ryker is my tribute to William Riker aka #2 on Next Generation. Most everybody I team with either calls me a Trekkie or a nerd when they see him. I get a few compliments on him saying how similar my Ryker looks to Riker. I also get a lot of, “prepare to be genericized when a ***** sees this.” Well my Ryker is spelled differently and I don’t affiliate him with any Star Fleet in his bio, but he is pretty similar. I suppose one day I might log on with Ryker and his name will be “Hero 839 102 384”. I’ll just have to buy a name change token and name him “Cmdr Bill Rygar” or something to that effect. The second thing is that I’m not a Trekkie. I’m a Star Wars geek. Hence my in-game global chat name of John_Solo. I actually have three John Solo heroes. They are on Triumph (lvl 20), Freedom (lvl 8), and Guardian (lvl 2). John Solo has similar outfits to Han Solo, but he’s got my face and hair, goatee included.
Saturday evening Darrell and I were supposed to get together online after he got off work, however my wife and in-laws had different plans. I didn’t end up getting home Saturday night until 11 p.m. and D had already called it a night. I logged on with Queen Savra but I couldn’t find anybody to team with. She is my main villain. Level 31 Magic Mastermind – Necromancy/Dark Miasma. Sometimes its hard to find teams in Triumph, and it is doubly so on the Villain side of it. I logged her off to find that both Virtue and Freedom are full. The next shard with 2 dots was Infinity, my thinking being more people, easier to find a team. I have four characters on Infinity, none of which I deemed worthy. Von Helm, Mr. Cellophane, and Masochistic Cutter are all blah. There is also Princess Lieu Hahn, who was the predecessor to Darth Yinyang, who is the basis of the new guy – Gemini Force-Knight. He’s a Natural/Defender & Kinetic/Dark Blast. See my gimmick here? Gemini – Twins. Good side, bad side. His chest emblem is the drama masks. Happy face/Sad face Kinetic heals and buffs, Dark Blast shoots dark energy. Well that was the thought process anyways. I think I might’ve gave him Electric Blast at the last minute. I was thinking about how The Emperor shot the shit out of Mace Windu and Darth Vader with that badass Lightning Blast. The Emperor was definitely from the bad side. Darth Yinyang (a hero on Triumph) had the Kin/DB set, however the name Darth Yinyang sucks ass and I think that although I got him to lvl 8 in about 20 mins due to the XPx2, he’s bound to be sacrificed for more room. Anyways, I got GFK up to level 15 and I’m really happy with his costume.
After painting my arse off on Sunday, I was 30 minutes late for our online meeting, but after finally hooking up with Big D in game we logged on as the witches on Virtue. Brewhilda (lvl 33 Magic/Controller – Illusion/Radiation) is mine and Witch Azreal (lvl 33 Magic/Defender – Storm/Electric) is D’s. We got on a decent team and both hit 35 by the end of the session. That means the witches are now able to do the Roman missions. Outstanding.
Overall it wasn’t too bad of an XPx2 weekend. I got to spend a lot more time online than I did the first time. I didn’t get to do much with Queen Savra, but I think now that the witches are lvl 35, the plan is for Queen Savra and X-33 (D’s stalker) to get up to 35 to do the Roman mishs
