| Background |
Momma Yi\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s earliest memories are from the desert. She did not live there long though. At an early age she was caught by slave traders and by a strange set of circumstances she ended up living in Surmia, enrolled in the service to Grenth. There she met up with her future husband, a dashing Mesmer/Elementalist originally from Orr. She birthed three daughters with him and learned some of his Mesmer tricks before his demise in the fall of Surmia.
After the fall of Surmia, Momma enlisted in the Ascalon Armed Forces and due to her \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'motherly nature\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' soon got the position of Senior Officer for junior scouting parties. Having raised three daughters made her perfect for the job.
It was during one such routine scouting mission that the Searing struck. Momma Yi had her life saved by the only other surviving member of the party, the young Ranger Salie Sidhe. In return she taught Salie some of her Necromancer Lore and together they fought their way back to Old Ascalon, only to find it destroyed in the same conflagration that nearly ended their own lifes.

Momma Yi saw so much death in both the fall of Surmia and the following Searing that she\\\\\\\'s sworn off the use of Death Magic, instead she concentrates on the living Blood as a source of power and the Cursing of her foes to weaken and slow them. She\\\\\\\'s steadfast in any battle and actively supports the efforts of her Party Members. She\\\\\\\'s also not above some motherly advice to younger, less experienced Party Members.
The death of her husband strongly affected Momma Yi, adding to her protective nature and ensuring she will never speak his name. He daughters respect her wishes and do not mention him either.

Her main goal is to slow down and weaken the foe, while keeping the Monks and other Casters supplied with Energy.
