| Game History Profile: Garrett Gervasius |

Garrett Gervasius
Level 20 Human
R/Me Guild Wars

| Origin |
Garrett is inspired by the Thief trilogy of stealth games. The main character in those games is Garrett, a cynical master thief who\\\'s never been keen on helping anybody but himself.
In all three games, he has been inadvertently pulled into performing feats of heroism. In the first game, he destroyed the Trickster, who had ripped Garrett\\\'s right eye from his socket to perform a ceremony that would bring the world back into the Dark Ages. In the second game, Garrett single-handedly destroys Karras, the mad heretic Hammerite who formed his own cult called the Mechanists. Karras believed himself to be the Master Builder, the god of the Hammerites, and took it upon himself to try to remove all of humanity from the earth, leaving only him and his mechanical servants. Garrett backfired his plan, completely destroying Karras. In the third and last game, Garret fights with and against the Keepers, a group of wise people seeking only balance in the City, in order to destroy the Brethren and Betrayer spoken of in the Keeper Prophecies.
This series is what started my obsession with stealth games, so why not name a character in Guild Wars after Garrett? But he needed a last name, so I took the last name of a minor character that gets mentioned in the first two games, Bram Gervasius. This has become the \\\"family name\\\" of most of my characters for Guild Wars.
